Portland Spirit

A lunch cruise on the Portland Spirit - up and then down the Willamette River.

The ramp is pretty steep, and they provide assistance to get on and off the boat.
One guy is pushing the chair, and the other guy is behind him in case he slips or needs help.

We cruised to Milwaukie, turned around and then back to the Steel Bridge, turned and docked at the Salmon Street Springs. Weather was great for November - no rain, and sun peaking through. Up top, the cruising speed created a bit of a wind chill. B-r-r-r....

The lunch menu included your choice of entree from several. We all took the baked Salmon with vegies and rice or roasted potatoes.

The crew includes a pianist who serenades the meal with popular tunes. Occassionally the servers break into song - very good. The Portland Spirit company called the next day to see how we liked the cruise, to which I responded that we all really liked the experience. Even Dad, who didn't have a chance to say "no" to going on a ship again.
