Ya Hala

Delicious dinner at Ya Hala Lebanese restaurant in PDX around 75th and Stark.

Looks like they have a good lunch menu too. Definitely worthy of repeat visits.

We had an appetizer of Cheese Sfeeha - Mozzarella cheese, sprinkled with nigella (‘black caraway’ seeds) placed on three rounds of thin dough then baked.

Susan had Dajaj Over Rice - From their menu" We braise succulent pieces of chicken. Baked when we take your order, the fowl is set upon a mixture of spiced ground beef and basmati rice. Garnished with roasted almonds and pine nuts. Served with a side of yogurt."

I had Bulgar-B-Dfeen "We lay tender pieces of beef shank that have been slowly braised upon a bed of gently spiced bulgar wheat, mixed with chick peas and onions. Topped with roasted almonds and served with a side of yogurt."

We finally got to see The Artist on the big screen, an early Mother's Day outing.  Great movie! And we both were able to "get" all the dialog!

The movie was playing in the upstairs theater, which included several steps and a hike up the walkway. But, it has a nice hand rail which made the trek easier.

The Hollywood Theater is now a non-profit organization.
